After a year of his return the evil Lord Voldemort came back into the limelight, appearing at the ministry of magic under the nose of the then minister Cornelius Fudge. Following this Headmaster of Hogwarts Albus Dumbledore was murdered by none other than Severus Snape. Many people feared that, following Dumbledore's death, Hogwarts would be closed and would be no longer safe but instead it has remained open under the administration of Minerva McGonagall who has now taken on the position of Headmistress.
Many people were shocked that Hogwarts had been infiltrated by the Death Eaters and none other than werewolf Fenrir Greyback. Though the vanishing cabinet was destroyed and many other protective spells and jinxes placed on the buildings which gave the parents of the students attending the school a little bit of ease and many have agreed to send their children back to the school. It is Harry Potter's seventh years and things are getting more complicated by the day.
Many order members are now teaching at the Hogwarts, anyone suspected of being a Death Eater has been sacked and, fearing for his life, Horus Slughorn has left, leaving the position of Potions Master open. On the orders of Lord Voldemort, Severus Snape has returned, undercover, changing his appearance majorly with different magical surgeries and now looks completely different.
Nobody understands why the new potions professor has a dislike for Harry and is constantly drawling when he speaks. They are confused because they think he has not met Harry before and has no reason to dislike him. Harry begins to suspect that the new professor is Severus Snape but nobody believes him, nobody, that is, except one Draco Malfoy.
Having trouble overcoming their hatred for each other Draco and Harry work together to uncover Snape and show everyone who he really is. Unsure of what they are doing Vincent Crabbe, Gregory Goyle and Pansy Parkinson join up with Hermione Granger, Ginny Weasley and Ronald Weasley to try and discover what they are doing, their dislike forcing them to split into two groups, the Slytherins and the Gryffindors, and attempting to outdo each other and be the first to discover what the unlikely duo are doing.
